About us
EURid is the registry manager of the .eu and .ею (Cyrillic script) country code top-level domains upon appointment of the European Commission in 2003.
Take a look at our historical timeline to discover more about our humble beginnings and development.
We work with around 700 partners worldwide – accredited registrars – that register domain names for their customers.
Any company, individual or organisation residing in the European Union or in Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway can register a .eu or .ею domain name. Our collection of success stories features some great examples on how people and companies are reaping the benefits of choosing .eu or its variants in other scripts.

What we're about

Service
Good service is at the heart of everything we do.
Our technical systems ensure that newly registered domain names are delegated within minutes.
Through a team of people in four European offices, we support our stakeholders in any of the 24 official EU languages.

Security
We have enforced key security protocols such as DNSSEC. This helps reduce the chance that visitors to .eu or .ею websites are led to fake websites and tricked into supplying personal information if they type a protected .eu or .ею web address into their browser.
We also combat malicious registrations by actively screening newly registered domain names and work closely with law enforcement authorities to fight cybercrime.
We believe that information security is a fundamental building block of our business therefore we choose to follow the ISO 27001 security standard. This helps us handle information security in a structured manner, both in our technical operations and business processes.

Environmental responsibility
We believe that even companies working in cyberspace can do so in a sustainable manner. We are the first European TLD registry to be registered by the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). All our activities are guided by our environmental policy.
Every year we also assess our CO2 emissions and purchase verified CO2 credits to contribute to compensate our environmental impact.
